There have been many times in my life where I have been told I was “wrong” for feeling a certain way. This bothers me, and maybe it’s just semantics. But “wrong” doesn’t seem to be the appropriate word. My feelings are mine and for someone else to tell me that what I feel is “wrong” just strikes me as, well…as wrong.

Although I can’t choose how I may “feel” about something, I do always have the responsibility of how I react to those feelings. That’s the kicker. It’s not just how I feel, it’s how and/or what I choose to do because of those feelings. Wow. Responsibility. What an idea….

Anyhow…

I can say with a high level of certainty that I work with some of the most educated people in the world. Why then, for the love of god, can’t they walk down the hallways correctly? Walking around my work place, I feel that I am in some free-for-all smash up derby. People randomly stop in the hallway for no apparent reason and without indication. The congregate at the worst places. They walk down the hallway five wide. When it comes to walking, these noble prize winning laureates have the organizational skills of chickens.

I had a busy weekend. I cleaned out the garage. I visited my grandmother in the nursing home. I also was able to spend Saturday afternoon burning some scrap wood in the outdoor fireplace. It was cool overcast, autumn day in MA. It was nice to get everything done and sit by the fire outside and have a beer. My brother swung by and we shot the shit in the backyard, our feet up next to the fire. Later, my folks also swung by and we had a few glasses of wine. It was a nice night. I drank too much….

I also got to go the New England Patriots game on Sunday. It was great. I went with my brother-in-law, sister and niece. We had a great tail gate dinner: filet mignon, scallops in bacon, shrimp cocktail, Bloody Mary’s.….The Pats beating the Jets made the whole day complete. I came home to watch the Sox spank the Cardinals and am now completely wrapped up in “We’re gonna break The Curse of the Bambino”! frenzy.

Of course, watch out for next week where I make my “What the fuck happened to the Sox?” entry.
